First Time Off Shore

It was very slow going on the ICW yesterday so we decided to travel off shore today. It was a little rougher than expected and we quickly learned what needed to be put away and tied closed. Very pitchy. Lot of things shifting on the cabin, even the door to the refrigerator opened and we had to bungie cord the doors shut.  We both felt a little queezy but poor Abby threw up her breakfast, and we thought she was a sea dog.  She slept on the flybridge for the rest of the morning, not looking too perky.

Here we are passing Bald Head Island.

The ferry is needed to transport items, cars and people to the island. Wonder if they load cement trucks on the ferry if you need cement on the island?

We anchored off of the ferry terminal in Southport for the night and took the dinghy down to take Abby for her afternoon walk on a nearby small island.  She chased birds around and then found some dead ones and wanted to play with them.  Yuk!  So the rest of her walk was on a leash and she seemed to forget to do her business.  Oh Well there is always tomorrow.  Dingy ran great and we will do the island run again in the morning.
Off to downtown Wilmington tomorrow for two nights. We need to do some sewing on the Bimini top and finish our tax return.
