Onancock Day Three

We were going to depart Onancock yesterday but the winds were blowing pretty good out on the Chesapeake.  The town dock had an 80 footer coming in and we were docked in the only place he could go.

We knew this in advance and it was not a surprise to us, so instead of going over to Tangier island on a snotty day we anchored back in front of the town dock where we were the night before.
Since we had another day in Onancock, we were able to get a tour through Kerr Place.

Here is a wooden canoe used for farming oysters. it was built in1904.

We had a nice dinner on the aft deck of Seas the Day and a couple of bottles of wine.  More stories were told and plans made to call Milton Parks on Tangier Island in the morning to see if the dock space was available for us at Parks Marina.  Milton was in fine form on the phone this morning and assured us that the dock spaces would be ready for our arrival.  Milton is 80+ years old and still runs the marina from his golf cart with an oxygen bottle hooked up.  We will meet him this afternoon. Many people comment that Milton is full of stories and knows everything about Tangiers Island and we are looking forward to learning all about it.

Bill and Debbie made another donut run to the bakery as there has been some fighting over the last chocolate eclairs and supplies were running low.  We know have good stock and selection.  They are wonderful.
