Oxford

We stayed at Oxford Yacht Agency docks and since there was only room for one boat we rafted DriftAway and Seas the Day on the T head.  The dockage fees reflected the accommodations and it ended up being the perfect place at a very reasonable price. John the owner had been in the boat business for many years and told me he had sold over 350 new Grand Banks and had resold over a 1200 used ones in his 38 years being a Grand Banks dealer.

Oxford is a very nice community of quaint well maintained and pricy homes. We had an enjoyable walk through town admiring the architecture and landscaping.

We took a long walk around town with Bill and Sandy with Abby greeting everyone we passed.  There are some very beautiful boat yards here doing amazing work restoring old boats to Bristol condition. We toured one yard in particular Cutts and Case that had a whole shed full of boats some restored and some under restoration.

We walked past the Hinckley yard and ended up at a place for ice cream.

We picked up some provisions at the Oxford Market and then back to the boat for cocktails.

That evening we walked over to a restaurant Latitude 38 where we enjoyed a pleasant evening with Bill and Sandy and walked about a half mile back to the boat.  Its amazing how early we turn in, 9:00 PM is often referred to as boaters midnight and it feels like midnight now.  But then I do usually get up at 5:30 or 6:00 so I'm OK with the early to bed.
