Demopolis to Pickens Landing 10/19/17

We thought we would get an early start this morning.  They have a pump out system on the dock whereby you go and get a cart with the hose on it and then plug the hose in near your boat and do the pump out all for free.  Well an hour later we didn't even have one tank pumped out (we have two aboard) and we gave up.  Just not enough suction. So we got off around 10:00 and headed for Demopolis Lock.  Another straight in and down event, we have been so lucky with the locks. After a couple of hours we came to the Coffeeville lock which is the last lock on the Tenn-Tom system and we will be back in brackish water and start seeing tides again.

Another Misty morning
We had heard a lot about Bobby's Fish Camp but at 11:00 AM we were not ready to stop and also it's $1.50 a foot for no services and a good possibility of having another boat rafted off to you. Supposedly the catfish is very good but I'm not a huge fan of catfish and fried on top of that so we passed.
The famous Bobby's Fish Camp

Coffeeville Lock and Dam.  Our last  lock for a long time I guess
We found our anchorage at Pickens Landing and pulled in for the night.  There was a nice stretch of beach for Abby to play on and then cocktails and dinner.  I like anchoring and we are very comfortable at anchor. We have air conditioning and all the comforts of being at a marina for nothing.  Well $5.00 bucks worth of fuel I guess to run the generator. I bought a 125lb Manteus anchor last year at the boat show in Lauderdale and it has not failed us yet.  I sleep very well.  Also we leave the AIS on at night so the tows can see us on their AIS. So far so good.
End of another day
