Green Turtle to Paris Landing 10/9/17

We started the day with a pump out which ending up taking about two hours.  Their hose had a crack in it and it would not create enough vacuum to lift out of the tank. Nothing I hate more than wasting my time waiting for a pump out!! We really enjoyed our stay at Green Turtle and said goodbye and thanked Bill for their hospitality. It felt good to be moving again, we had not stopped anywhere for this long since we left Charleston in April.
We left around 10:00 AM and cruised down Kentucky Lake to Paris Landing State Park and checked in for the night.  This section of the Tennessee river from Kentucky leading into Tennessee is very pretty and we are starting to get some rolling hills and also seeing some rock formations. Paris Landing is a State Park and has very reasonable dock prices and the cheapest fuel between Alton IL and Mobile AL.  We will fill up when we leave which will get us to Mobile. Debbie is still hard at work upholstering the settees and I have been helping out when needed.  The project is going well and we will continue to work on it tomorrow. We have not seen much of Hurricane Nate so far but it is supposed to rain tomorrow so we may spend two nights here and continue our work. We are about halfway from Chicago to Mobile and so far the trip has been interesting and lots to do and see.  There are all kinds of loopers around and there are 6+ looper boats here tonight.

One of my projects for tomorrow is to find a new condensing unit for the freezer on the aft deck and get it installed before we head to the Bahamas in 2018.  This unit still works but is looking very tired and is rotting out.  Also its noisy and doesn't stop running or cycle.  I guess I will see when I get to it tomorrow.
This is the condensing unit I want to replace on the aft deck freezer

A picture of the newly installed VHF on a new base panel with the radar.  Above is the AIS with room for more instruments as we acquire them.
