Swallow Bluff to Aqua Harbor on Pickwick Lake 10/13/17

There was quite a bit of fog early when we got up and I took Abby back over to the Island to run up and down the beach.  She was faster than ever and since the water had dropped about a foot overnight she ran all the way out to the end of the sandspit at the upper end of the island.  We returned to the boat and I made Debbie and I omelets from the left over Brats and added green onions, mushrooms and cheese. We left around 9;30 after the fog had burnt off and it was a beautiful clear day. Not too hot and clear skies. We motored through some strong current for about 3 miles below Pickwick Lock and then locked through with another Looper that said they had to wait for about 2-3 hours.  We sailed right in as the lock was just opening when we pulled up.  Once clear of the lock it's about 5 miles to Aqua Harbor on the Tenn-Tom.  We checked in around 2:30 and took the courtesy van to do some shopping in Iuka MS.  Where we were is very close to one of my customers and Debbie and I stopped in for a quick visit. We spent about a half hour with Jamie at B&G Equipment and then headed over to Brooks the local grocery store for some provisions.  Back to the marina and cocktails while we met some of the locals on the dock. Tonight we watched a movie State of Play.  Pretty good entertainment, then off to bed.  Great starry night.

Still a little fog as we headed off in the morning

I dove on the zincs to check out their condition. I will need to change them when we get to Mobile and back in salt water

This is where the Tenn Tom waterway starts off of the Tennessee.  Turn right to the Tenn-Tom and our marina Aqua Harbor for the night
Big house just coming out of the Pickwick Lock into Pickwick Lake
