Fulton Lock to Columbus Marina 10/15/17

Woke up to another great day and took Abby by dingy over to the boat ramp.  We called the lock after breakfast and he had the doors open and the lock ready for us when we pulled up anchor.  More locks today and there was one lock that had been reported to have maintenance being done on it and we were a little worried that we might be delayed.  We asked at the Aberdeen Lock if everything was OK at the Rankin Lock and the lockmaster said yes no problem.  We arrived at Rankin and it was straight in like all of the others.  Around 3:30 we arrived at the Columbus Marina and got a nice covered slip for the night.  Debbie took Abby for a walk and I took the Courtesy Ram 1500 for a trip into Columbus to pick up a few things.  Our boat neighbors across the dock are Gold Loopers and there were two other Gold Loopers on the dock, but not around. We saw three shallow draft swamp boats with air-cooled engines and long slanted shafts, that stopped in the slip next to us so the girls could go to the head.
When we arrived at the marina there was all kinds of weeds floating in the channel and even more in the marina and our slip.  They brought a helicopter in last week and sprayed all of the weeds in the bay and now that they are dying or dead they all float around.  Pretty big mess.

The dockmaster told us to be careful with Abby as they do have alligators around here.  He said there was a baby alligator hanging around and thinks someone has been feeding it.  I guess that's a big no no because it associates humans with food and they will hang around.  Once they get bigger is when it's a problem.

Last night we watched Safe House with Ryan Reynolds and Denzel Washington.  Pretty good but not very believable.  Lots of bang bang and car chase and fight scenes. Sounded like Hollywood''s take on corruption in the CIA........  During the movie it started raining and rained hard for about an hour and a half, but we were under a covered slip so it was all good

Kinda like this.  They looked like they were having a great time playing in the swamp
