Paris Landing to Cuba Landing 10/11/17

We left Paris Landing after pumping out and filling up with fuel.  We should have enough fuel to get us to Mobile now where there are two marinas that offer a free nights docking with purchase of fuel.  We should easily be able to comply with that!!
Paris Landing was a great stop and we enjoyed our two day stay.  Its a large State Park with a lodge, dinning room, golf course, and of course the marina.  Lots of grounds to explore for Debbie and Abby. This section of the Tennessee River is interesting in that it's now much wider than before they dammed the river, but on the chart you can see the original riverbed clearly as it is deeper than the areas that were flooded. Lots of times you can go outside the old river bed and still have lots of water and other times you need to pay attention. The bad areas are marked with red hash lines and are very obvious and easy to avoid.
White is deep, shades of blue probably OK hash lined red is a no go!  Another nice feature is the mile markers on the sailing line.  It is always easy to figure out distances during the day.
We cruised along about 50 miles and stopped for the night at Cuba Landing, a small country marina that was very comfortable for us for the night.  Nothing special but a nice feel to it. We joined "First Forty" Bill and Bobbie from Centennial CO, they are also Loopers and were at Paris Landing the night before.
We stayed on the dock just in front of the sailboat. Very peaceful evening

Lots more houses on stilts.  I guess this area floods badly too.
We have been watching Downton Abbey and tonight was a two episode night.
