Chaffey's to Newboro and Big Rideau lake

We reluctantly left Chaffeys after a wonderful couple of days and headed north up the Rideau to the big lakes.  We passed over on visiting Westport as we had been told there was not much water in there and didn't want to risk finding rocks with the propellers.  It was windy as usual going through the Narrows and Debbie did a great job of securing the boat in and after the locks.  We stopped for lunch on the downside of the locks as we made our first down-bound lockage on the way to Ottawa.  About an hour later we found a nice anchorage in Big Rideau lake in Murphy's Bay.  I'm pretty sure I have anchored here before but it was many years ago.  Russ Cluett and Brenda have a house or should I say a resort here on this bay but we weren't sure where it was as I had only been there once in the fall of 2006.  We will be meeting them tomorrow for lunch at the Galley in Portland.
