Colonel By Island to Poonamalie Locks

We spent time relaxing in the morning at Colonel By Island and then motored over to the Winking Rosebud for lunch and a tour with Russ and Brenda.  What a place!  The resort can sleep 30 and has lots of features you will not find anywhere else.  Lap pool, Foosball table, ping pong table,  huge deck, boathouse with bedrooms and lots of water toys.  Sandy beach and a view!! The construction includes staircases and railing made from trees cut on the property with burled spindles and lots of crazy tile work and artwork.  There is even a picture of Brenda water skiing in a wedding dress that was published in National Geographic.

The decor is spectacular.  Also there is 85 acres of woodland across the road and trails through it.  We were touring in the Mule with some crazy woman driving (Brenda) and just as I asked if they had deer Bambi ran across the trail

We stayed for pizza and Shanties for lunch and then it was time to get on the move.  We cruised down through the big lakes to Rideau Ferry and stopped at Poonamalie lock station for the evening.  There were a couple of other cruisers there from Bobcaygeon and we chatted with them. This is a very nice overnight spot with good electric.
