Escanaba to Menominee 9/12/17

We had pumped out yesterday ,filled with water and loaded the motorcycle so we were ready to go in the morning.  We left on a gorgeous day and light winds for our ride down the Bay de Noc.  Once we cleared the shoal south of Escanaba it was a 3.5 hour straight run down to Menominee.  Not much navigational skill required.  We listened to music and enjoyed the bright sunshine and warm weather.  Lake Michigan can be nasty and we feel fortunate to have a forecasted week of calm winds and sunshine.
Goodbye Escanaba

Hello Lake Michigan

When your traveling you need to stock up on prescriptions and CVS has made it pretty easy to do with online apps for ordering.  We arrived at Menominee shortly after 2:00PM and were greeted by Bill the harbormaster who helped us with our lines.  We lowered the bike down and rode over to CVS to pick up the next three months of prescriptions.  All done in 1/2 an hour.  Debbie and I took advantage of the perfect weather to tour Menominee and Marinette where they build Littoral Combat Ships  (LCS) , destroyers I think.  Lockheed Martin is the contractor
Pretty neat looking ships, although you can't get very close to them.

We loaded the bike back aboard and we had a nice visit from a former Looper telling us what to expect going down the rivers.  His recommendation was to take our time and meet all of the other loopers along the way.  We are having ribs for dinner and its cocktail hour so I have to go.  Bye now.
