Mel's Diner to Alton 9/23/17

We were the first to leave in the morning because we wanted to get to the marina in Alton so we could wash all of the dead bugs off of the flybridge from the night when we anchored out at Devil's Elbow and alsoget water, fuel and supplies.  We left the deck lights on and the anchor light along with the AIS so the tows could see us well.  The bugs loved the light and it took us 3 hours to wash everything off of the Bimini and flybridge.  We also had a giant collection of spiders and spider poop from the last couple of weeks that needed to go. After we had finished washing we called the local grocery store and they will come and pick you up and take you back from the store with your groceries.  The owners son came and picked us up in a Kia Soul that had a pungent odor of weed. If you are ever looking to cast the characters of Bevis and Butthead I know where to find the perfect guy!!.  He was very nice but, well you know what I mean.....

We were both sore after all the washing and each took some Naproxin and headed off to bed.
Lots of duck blinds and guys working to get them ready for the season opening.  This was the most creative one we saw.

This is the story of the flood and fire at Mel's

Mel's Dockside dock and Restaurant with Sandrobber, Act III, Thistle, and Loofah.  We left first in the morning
