Lakefield to Buckhorn Lake 7/30/17

After a very nice and picturesque cruise through the many islands in Stony lake and past the little church of St Peter's on the Island we came to the locks at Burleigh Falls.  There was a line up and we had to wait about an hour to get locked through.  Everyone was very curtious and waited their turn and proceeded in an orderly fashion through the locks.  After the locks we stopped in Lovesick lake for lunch and a swim.  Debbie still can't swim because of her cast so I have thought of making a dunking chair and lowering her into the water with the davit.  I'm not sure how keen she is though...

Our anchorage behind Three Sisters in Buckhorn Lake

Back on the boat and off through Lovesick Lock into Buckhorn Lake where we found a nice anchorage behind the Three Sisters Islands.  The water out of the channel was charted as deep, but it was very weedy and made me nervous.  Once we got in behind the islands the water was deeper and we were able to anchor in 20 feet of water.  The islands provided a spot for Abby to run and we went over and met some boaters from Hamilton who had two dogs for Abby to play with.   Brad and I went swimming and I removed a bunch of weeds from the props and shafts.  The strainers are good and there is a mesh over the intakes which seems to be working well at keeping weeds out of the strainers.  Back on the boat and cocktails and dinner.  Another episode of Homeland and some star gazing then off to bed.

Not many pictures today
